Rail-mounted shelving systems were initially popularized by Scandinavian cabinet makers in the early 1930s. Soon after, many architects and designers released their own takes that would become fixtures of the mid-century modern movement. Kim Richardt’s Shelf Library System, developed for FRAMA and initially released in 2016, is a refined interpretation of this tradition with its own design language. An infinitely modular system that lends itself to any space.

Hannah ★★★★★

The oak grain is beautiful in person, much warmer than the photos show, and the three sections give me plenty of room for my cookbooks and plants. Assembly took about an hour with the rails already cut to size, which I appreciated. It feels solid against the wall now that everything’s tightened up.

Julian G. ★★★★★

The rail mounting system made installation a breeze, and the natural oak finish perfectly complements my mid-century decor. I hung it in my hallway for extra book storage, and the triple section holds more than I expected without feeling bulky.

Sophia ★★★★★

Already put this together in my living room and the natural oak grain really stands out against the white wall. It’s surprisingly sturdy once the rail system is secured, and the three sections give me plenty of room for books and small plants. Took about an hour to mount, but the look is worth it.
